After breakfast, drive to Thanjavur. Thanjavur is located in a fertile area because the Kauvery River flows through it and irrigates the land. Enroute, a stop is made at Chidambaram, an important center of Shivaism. The city is dominated by the enormous temple to Nataraja, the dancing Shiva. Rituals are constantly held in the temple. Today you will take a city tour of Thanjavur. Thanjavur is located in a fertile area because the Kauvery flows through it and irrigates the land. The Kauvery is considered by the Tamils as the southern Ganges. A bath in this would therefore be equal to a bath in the Ganges.
Also worth a visit is the Rajaraja Museum in the middle of the city. It has an important collection of bronzes on display in its spaces. After breakfast you will leave for Madurai. Along the way you will visit the impressive rock fortress of Trichy. It is a steep climb via the 450 steps, but once at the top the effort is rewarded with a beautiful view of the city and the rice fields, banana plantations and a large coconut palm plantation behind it. You also visit the Srirangam Temple, which consists of seven walls that surround each other. The three outer walls are colorful and busy. Here you will find one of the largest bazaars in India. Then you continue to Madurai. This is the oldest and most sacred city in Tamil Nadu and is also called the city of temples. overnight in Madurai.
After breakfast, you will visit the Meenakshi Amman temple complex. The 14 towers (the highest of which is 52 meters) of the temple complex are completely covered with colorful statues of gods and goddesses, animals and mythical figures. Very special to see! There is a lot to do in and around the temple. Inside the sanctuary, numerous traders sell their products of local crafts. Another beautiful sight is the 17th century Thirumalai Nayak Palace. A unique building with many columns, arches and domes. You can also visit the Gandhi Memorial Museum where many personal souvenirs of Mahatma Gandhi are displayed. overnight in Madurai.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Munnar , on arrival check in and relax, later visit Echo Point is a fun place to be if you wish to hear your voice echo back to you. This acoustic mechanism works because of the presence of three mountain ranges in the area, C.S.I Christ Church was built in 1910 in memory of the wife of the manager of Finlay Tea Co. who died due to cholera at the age of 23. The final stop on your first day in Munnar should be at Kalari Kshetra – a center for performing arts, which holds daily cultural programs depicting the traditional dances of the state of Kerala, overnight in Munnar.
After breakfast, visit Anayirangal Dam holds the waters of the Panniyar River and the lake borders the Tata Tea Plantations and forests, Periyakanal Tea Factory is located in the eponymous village and one of the oldest tea factories in Munnar. The path takes you through lush green tea plantations amidst the rolling hills, Lock Heart Gap, this point is named due to the formation of a locked heart in the gap between two mountains visible from up here. Home to the Lockhart Tea Factory, Kanan Devan Tea Museum is owned by the Tata Group and often called the Tata Tea Museum. There are 6 rooms inside this museum and they showcase the techniques of local tea production. Rajamalai National Park or Eravikulam National Park is home to the highest peak in the Western Ghats – Anamudi Peak, which stands tall at the height of 2,695 meters, overnight in Munnar.

Morning after breakfast, visit Periyar National Park is located near Thekkady. This is one of the tiger reserves in India, although the chance of spotting a tiger is nil. The area is enormous, thickly wooded and only fifty live there. On the other hand, you have a good chance of spotting an elephant and other special wildlife, The Park has a mystical yet serene atmosphere. Today you will take a boat trip (in a group) on Periyar Lake, the driver will arrange the tickets. We were lucky enough to see a herd of elephants swimming across, a special sight! Today you drive to Alleppey, backwaters with a traditional (private) houseboat; the backwaters of Kerala. During the boat trip you can enjoy the beautiful nature reserve with palm trees, small villages and rice fields. Life in the backwaters takes place on the water and on the banks. The population lives from agriculture and uses the canals to transport merchandise. You can also see locals fishing, washing and bathing. A private chef provides a tasty, fresh lunch.
On the way you will make a stop for a short walk through a small village. At the end of the afternoon, you will moor at the place where you will spend the night. After a beautiful sunset, a delicious dinner is on the table. You will spend the night in a comfortable room on board the houseboat. An unforgettable experience!
